Microsoft has recently unveiled the Microsoft 365 Copilot App, marking a significant evolution in its suite of productivity tools. This update not only introduces new features but also comes with a fresh logo and icon, reflecting the integration of AI capabilities within the app.
Key Features and Enhancements
The Microsoft 365 Copilot App is designed to be your go-to productivity tool, combining the functionalities of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more, all in one place. With the integration of Copilot, users can now leverage AI to assist with tasks such as drafting documents, creating content, and managing workflows. The app aims to streamline your work processes, making it easier to collaborate and stay organized.
New Logo and Icon
The new logo and icon for the Microsoft 365 Copilot App were rolled out on January 15th, 2025. The design reflects the app's enhanced capabilities and modern look. However, some users have reported that the new icon is difficult to decipher on low-resolution screens. Despite this, the update represents Microsoft's commitment to evolving its tools to better support AI-driven experiences.
User Experience and Accessibility
The app's user interface has also undergone significant changes. The top header has been removed, and essential tools like user profile, settings, and feedback have been relocated to the bottom left toolbar. Additionally, the search box is now prominently displayed on the homepage, making it easier to find content across various file types and storage locations.
Availability
The Microsoft 365 Copilot App is available to users with both work and personal accounts. For work or school accounts, Copilot Chat is included at no additional cost for those with a Microsoft 365 license. Personal account holders will soon have access to Copilot Chat as part of their Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions.
